What we install

Tank and tankless water heaters, installed clean.

Whether your old tank gave out or you're upgrading to tankless, we handle the whole job — sizing, installation, standard replacement items, safety checks, and haul-away of the old unit. If code upgrades or corrections are needed, we explain those clearly before work starts. We test the install before we leave so you have hot water when we drive off.

Tank water heaters

30, 40, and 50-gallon gas and electric. The standard for most homes — straightforward replacement, lower upfront cost.

Tankless water heaters

Endless hot water, smaller footprint, longer service life. Higher upfront cost but lower energy use over time.

Annual flush & descale

Hard water shortens tank life. An annual flush ($125 for tank, $185 tankless descale) keeps your unit running longer.

Common signs

If you're seeing any of these, give us a call — we can usually tell you over the phone whether it's a quick fix or replacement time.

  • No hot water — or it's only lukewarm
  • Hot water runs out after 5–10 minutes
  • Rust-colored or smelly hot water
  • Water pooling around the base of the tank
  • Popping, rumbling, or knocking from the tank
  • The tank is 10+ years old

Frequently asked

Water heater questions, answered.

How long does a water heater last in Las Vegas?

Most tank water heaters in the Las Vegas Valley last 8 to 12 years. Hard water shortens that lifespan because mineral buildup wears the tank from the inside. If your water heater is over 10 years old, plan for replacement before it fails.

Tank or tankless — which is better for my home?

Tank heaters are cheaper up front and simpler to replace like-for-like. Tankless units cost more to install but last longer, use less energy, and never run out of hot water. The right answer depends on your gas line, household size, and budget — we walk through both options at the estimate.

Why do Las Vegas water heaters fail faster?

Las Vegas has some of the hardest water in the country. Calcium and magnesium build up at the bottom of the tank, the anode rod gets eaten faster, and the tank corrodes from the inside. An annual flush slows it down. Sentinel Shield Membership includes a yearly flush.

Do you haul away the old water heater?

Yes. Every replacement install includes full haul-away of your old unit. You don't have to deal with disposal.

What does the warranty cover?

Every water heater install comes with a 1-year labor warranty from Sentinel Plumbing. The water heater itself carries the manufacturer's warranty — typically 6 years on the tank — which we register for you at install.

How long does the installation take?

A standard tank-to-tank replacement is usually 2 to 4 hours from arrival to hot water. Tankless installs take longer, especially if we're upgrading the gas line or venting. We give you a real timeline at the estimate.
